Making another topic in the sun

Blueflower was outside in the sun, sunning off and all that stuff.

Blackfur padded out and sat nearby. "Hi Blueflower." He mewed, yawning.

She turned to look at him. "Hey blackfur. How are you? Other than tired."

"Fine thanks. You?" He asked.

"Eh, alright." She said

Padding over to the fresh-kill pile, Blackfur plucked off a frog. "Want to share? I haven't eaten yet." He offered.

"No, if you haven't eaten you'll need it. Besides I'm not really hungry." She said.

He shrugged. "Suit yourself." He mewed, sitting down to eat.

"So," she said, unsure of what to say. "How's... Your mother doing?"

Blackfur stopped, mid-bite. He slowly swallowed then eyed Blueflower with a puzzled look on his face. "Do you mean Aurastar? I don't know my real parents, or family at all for that matter..." He meowed.

"Oh, sorry." She said looking away.

"It's okay. You aren't the first to bring it up." He chuckled.

"I know but it makes me feel stupid. It looked like she was your mother." She said still not looking t him.

Blackfur flicked an ear. "She is my mother. Just adopted. It's fine, really." He mewed with a smile.

"But isn't really?" She asked.

"Not a birth mother. But she's my mother still." He explained calmly. He didn't see any reason to be offended. "So, have anything planned?" he asked casually, rolling onto his back so he could clean his paws and chest fur.

"She just shook her head. "Not really."

"I think I'll hunt later. Why don't you come with?" He offered, rolling back onto his feet and looking at Blueflower.

Blueflower shrugged. "Sure, whatever gets me out of camp."

"Mkay." He mewed, getting to his paws and shaking his fur. "I'll fix my nest-fur and then we can go." With that he padded over to the corner and began to groom himself.

Blackfur sat by the camp entrance, waiting for Blueflower.

Blueflower was laying down a little ways away from where she was, and got up. She walked over to Blackfur, "ready?"

"Yes. Let's go." He mewed, leading the way outside.

It took a while, being leaf-fall and all, but finally he caught a whiff of prey. Crouching down, he began to slink away into the bushes like a snake.

Blue had followed him, and when it was time, she crouched.
