One Down, More To Come

Stripedtail gently placed the sleeping apprentice on some moss in the clearing where the three cats usually met. It was going to be dawn soon, but before he brought the kit to wherever it would be staying until the specific time they needed her was, the three had supposedly come back here to say their farewells and make sure they had a plan when Bluejay came to get them from their clans.

Badgerpaw flickered open her Big,Blue eyes in fear. "W-where am I?" she wimpered.

Stripedtail flicked his tail over her mouth to quiet her. "The Gorge. Calm down, everything is okay. I rescued you." He murmured gently with a soft smile.

"what happened?" she yawned.

ic: Stripedtail sighed dramatically, as if he was worried for the cat's safety. "You know how Aurastar has gone a little bit...Off, in health? Don't get me wrong. It's noticeable at gatherings." He meowed, looking away. "She finally snapped, and well, tried to sacrifice you in the Gorge here as if to give an offering to Starclan or something. It was at night, and I was patrolling. I chased her off, and fixed you up a comfy spot next to this bush." He explained softly, gently smiling at the young apprentice.

Of course every one of his words were all huge lies in which to help keep the apprentice here until the other kits were captured, in which it didn't matter whether she knew the truth or not then.

Badgerpaw looked at him "Wheres Blackfur and the rest?" she meowed worriedly

Stripedtail didn't look at her. "They watched. I could smell them nearby, but none of them helped when I attacked." He growled lowly. "They didn't help you out either as you were about to be dropped to your doom. They must be more loyal to Aurastar than anything. I thought I spotted that Shadowclan deputy as well...He looked pleased at the sacrifice. When I attacked Aurastar and chased her off, he confronted me and told me he wouldn't fight over this, because I would be punished far worse by starclan." He snarled, hackles raising for more effect. "Those frog-brains...How could they do such an awful thing to such a young, brave apprentice?"

She creeped forward and laid her head on his paw, wrapping her front paws around it as well, "You'll protect me wont you then?" she purred, her eyes drooping.

Nightwing stepped behing her and mouthed the words "They'll be born tomorrow" , then smirked, seeing the apprentice

Stripedtail looked at Nightwing and gave a silent nod, then looked down at the apprentice. "Of course." He purred gently.

"Are you staying here with me?" she yawned "Aurastar never made me sleep by myself"

"If you want me to. But tomorrow we'll need to figure out a place for you to stay in secret in order for you to be safe while I sort things out. After all, you want to become a warrior, don't you? It's not fair for the other kits to be warriors, yet you get thrown in the gorge, now is it?" He huffed. "Maybe you could join a different clan...Or I could talk to Aurastar for you."

What a stupid idea. He's not going to chat with the Shadowclan leader randomly about that. But of course, the apprentice knew nothing. She was too young and tired to think more clearly and smartly about this situation she was in.

"I wanna stay with you" she yawned cutely

Stripedtail sighed and nodded slowly. "Alright. Go to sleep now." He murmured.

Nightwing crouched low in the bushes, waiting for him.

Badgerpaw laid her head on the ground, closing her eyes she quickly fell asleep.

Gently and carefully, Stripedtail removed his paws from under her, quickly replacing it with moss. He silently picked his way over to Nightwing and nodded. "The first part of the plan is almost finished. We just need Brightstar's kits..." He whispered, watching Badgerpaw.

"It won't be long before we'll make the clans pay."

"What will we do with the kits and her" he nodded to Badgerpaw

ic: After Stripedtail's long plan had been explained to Nightwing, the Riverclan warrior took a moment to study his....co-worker. Of course he left out the part of him eventually taking over rule of all of them, rather than the three warriors sharing the rule over the territories.

Nightwing nodded "fair enough, but what happens if we don't take all the leader's lives?"

He flicked an ear, smirking. "Then she'll be too weak right at the moment, and probably in Starclan getting her current life taken away. We don't give her a chance to recover." He growled quietly.

He flicked an ear "Seems good. Should we make a fallback plan?"

Stripedtail nodded in agreement. "Good idea, though the only reason we'd need to use it was if..." He trailed off. "Where's Bluejay anyways?" He asked suddenly, looking around.

"He's back at Skyclan camp. Thunderclan got attacked and Ivystar asked Squirrelstar if both clans could stay. He's keeping an eye on the leaders" he meowed, flicking his tail

"Interesting..." Stripedtail commented. "Well I suppose I'll explain everything to him when we see him again, then." He sighed, looking back at Badgerpaw. "I know a place we can keep her. I'm taking her there tomorrow." He murmured.

"Carionplace."

"You sure that it's abandoned now?" he licked a paw.

"If it's not, there is open land just outside its border." He shrugged simply.
