Brightstar Announces Deputy

Brightstar walked up. She just got back. Nobody knew. She was now leader. "WindClan!" she announced, calling all cats. "I traveled to the moonstone, and I have been granted 9 lives from StarClan!" She looked around, her eyes gleaming, watching cats gather. "It's now time to announce the new deputy of WindClan!"

Rabbitfoot padded over from his den, sitting down.

Quietbreeze quickly padded over and sat beside Rabbitfoot.

Nightlight crouched in the back, not wanting to see anyone.

Brightstar felt a sharp pang hit her as she saw Nightlight. Alone. Sad. All because of her. Why? Because she turned him down. She turned down true love, and the love between them. She pretty much blew up all his hope of being with her. Having kits. Living happily. "WindClan! I thought long and hard about the deputy--and who it should be." She looked around, a glint in her eyes, the rising moon shining in her fur. "Quietbreeze! Will you guide WindClan alongside me, and uphold Patchstar's legacy?" A sudden pang of sadness hit her. She saw the old leader at StarClan... he gave her one of the lives she holds so dear. She could understand why Quietbreeze loved the old leader, and was so sad when he died.

Quietbreeze's eyes went wide, and her mouth gaped. But she couldn't! Sure, helping another apprentice train while she was a warrior could be considered having an apprentice, as the rule of needing one only exists because the future deputy needs to have responsibility lessons. But...she was so shy...all the other clans scared her, unless they attacked her clan. What to do?

There wasn't much choice for another deputy. She's have to take it for her clan. "I-I do..." She stuttered quietly, suddenly realizing her hushed tone. "I do." She spoke louder, though her tail was quivering with fear.
