Robin in the Mist ouo (For Mist and I)

Robinflight led Mistpaw out, happy that she would be able to teach the apprentice hunting. She never had an apprentice -And this would probably prepare her.

Mistpaw followed, eager to finally learn how to hunt.

Robinflight stopped as they were right next to the River. "Okay, show me your hunters crouch," Robinflight meowed, sitting down. "And remember, we're hunting fish."

Mist didn't exactly know how to do the hunters crouch, but he had seen other cats do it when hunting things. He tried his best to mimic what he had seen.

"That's good," Robinflight nodded, getting into her hunter's crouch, watching the river carefully. "When you're trying to catch a fish, you watch it, and you try to think of where the fish will be, not where it is." She dunked her head in, splashing as she pulled her head up, a fish in her jaws.

Mist stared down into the water. He dunked his head under, making a splash as he hit the water. He pulled back, soaked, with no fish.

Robinflight set her fish down on the grass. "That's okay. Practice makes perfect," she meowed. "Try again."

He watched the fish carefully, hoping to catch one this time. He went under for a second and came back up with a fish in his jaws.

"Great catch!" Robinflight mewed excitedly, looking at the big fish in the apprentice's jaws. "You'll make a great hunter by the time you're a warrior. Try catching a couple more."

Mist sent the fish down. He was proud of himself, but he wasn't too confident he could do it again. He approached the river, ready to try again. This time he came up with nothing but a mouthful of water.

Robinflight watched Mist carefully. "Try like this," she mewed, demonstrating a hunter's crouch and looking in the water, soon after plunging her head in and coming back out, a fish wriggling in her jaws.

Mist watched. He still wasn't too sure what he was doing wrong.

"Now try again. Try to keep really, really focused." Robinflight smiled.

Mist nodded. He tried again, keeping really focused. He missed again. He looked up at Robinflight, disappointed.

"It's okay," Robinflight smiled. "Like I said, practice makes perfect. Try a couple more times. Then, we'll go back."

"Alright." Mist said. He looked at the water. In a flash he shot his head underwater and came back up with another fish.

"Good!" Robinflight congragulated. "You're getting good."

Mist was grateful for the praise, though he thought it was only luck that he had caught that fish. He set it down by the other one and got ready to try again.
