Warmkit gets sick

Warmkit complained to the cats he was around, my belly hurts. He had to miss his apprentice ceremony because of this sickness. It was only a matter of time before the medicene cat figured out something was wrong, and she would make him eat those yucky herbs. A growl rose inside of him when he realized this would stop him from becoming an apprentice anytime soon.

"Hi, Warmkit," Patchstar mewed to his son. "Watcha up to?"

"Not becoming an apprentice, thats for sure." he growled.

"You can't become an apprentice if you're sick," Patchstar meowed. He kept having to tell his son that.

"I'm not sick!" the kit yelled, then fell over as another surge of pain took over his body. He got up again and mewed "See, I'm perfectly fine" then fell over again, breathing hard.

Patchstar helped his son back up. "You'll become an apprentice when you're not so sick," he told him.

Warmkit growled. Warmkit hated that he had been held back, and he blamed his father and his siblings.... How far would this hatred go? He asked himself. "Whatever..." he mewed sadly but inside he wasnt sad, he was very, very mad.

"Why don't you go see if Breezepaw wants to play?" Patchstar asked.

"Why would a kit like ME play with an apprentice" He hissed.

"Because you're siblings," Patchstar began, crossing his eyes. "No one's going to play with you if you continue to be so angry with everyone."

"I-I can't help it.." Warmkit cried, he looked innocent but then a flash of anger flew through his eyes, and he hissed "Maybe I don't want to play!" That would be the last time Warmkit would ever be the innocent kit again. Something had switched inside of him.

"Then if you don't want to play, do something useful. Take a nap up something," Patchstar mewed, padding off to his den.

Rabbitpaw padded over, eyes narrowed and flaring with anger. "Eat these." he ordered, pushing juniper berries towards him. "And I'll get you poppy for the pain in a minute." he said, sitting. We would wait a moon, he would wait until the disrespectful kit did as was told.

Warmkit did has he was told, mumbling and growling the whole time. Something happened to that sweet little kit...

Rabbitpaw padded away, a leaf in his jaws. He was limping, a paw lifted and twisted so it's pads faced the sky. Then he sat the leaf down and shook the two poppy seeds off his pads. "And here is the poppy." he said.

"But that makes me sleepy!" Warmkit complained.
