New arrival

Reedkit limped into Riverclan camp behind Coldgaze, his eye bleeding and swollen, and his eyelids overlapping in a weird way. His back leg was dislocated, and he limped on three legs. "Is this the camp?" He croaked, exhausted. He smelled strongly of Thunderclan.

Otterstar was asleep soundly in her den. Bother her and you'll get thrown off the gorge.

Sparrowpaw came padding into Otterstar's den, not caring that she was sleeping. "Ottertsrar, Otterstar wake up! Coldgaze came back with a ThunderClan kit, and the kit is...amaged." Sparrowpaw said.

IC: Otterstar let out a moan of annoyance. "Send them in..."

Coldgaze blinked "yes, this is your new home" he purred.

Minnowkit peeked out of the nursery, "What is that awful smell?" Is there a new cat here?

Reedkit gazed around in awe. "Cool!" He purred in excitement. "I can't wait to be an apprentice! It'll be cool to learn how to swim and fish and stuff!" he mewed happily despite the pain of his injuries.

""You might be staying a kit for a little while longer with those injuries of yours" he flicked his tail

Reedkit nodded. "That's okay." He mewed, limping his way after Coldgaze. "Do we have to tell the leader we're here?" he asked.

"Yes, her name is Otterstar" he picked the kit up by the scruff and bounded up to the leaders den "Otterstar?" he called.

"Coldgaze?" Otterstar mewed back, annoyance prickling her pelt.

Coldgaze padded in and sat the kit down "This is Reedkit. He wants to join Riverclan" he meowed.

Otterstar stood up and sniffed the kit. "Who authorized you to bring a ThunderClan kit?" She gave it another quick sniff. "Not only a ThunderClan kit, but Rainstar's kit."

"Rainstar did." he looked at the kit "I saved him after he fell in the river and he told Rainstar he wanted to live here with us and she let me take him" he explained.

Black seemed to be listening closley "Why would a Thunderclan kit want to join? too afraid to face Riverclan in battle?" she hissed quietly to herself.

Reedkit looked up at Otterstar. "Please? I want to learn to swim and fish and be a good warrior. When Coldgaze rescued me, I realized Thunderclan warriors must not be good enough if they can't even get their paws wet to save one of their own kits. Riverclan is better. I trust Coldgaze." He mewed, looking back at the warrior with the same awe and respect he had when he was first rescued.

Sparrowpaw looked to his younger sister, hearing her remark and hissed. "Shut up!" he whispered. Then he turned to Reedkit. "It's almost like he was born to be in RiverClan-like StarClan intended it. Reeeeeedkit." he said, holding out the 'reed' part of the kit's name for effect.

Black hissed at her brother "You shut it mouse-brain" she mumbled.

Sparrowpaw bared his teeth, and since he was sitting basically right next to her, he was ready to fight her-and not hold back. "Some sister you are.." he murmured, shooting her an icy cold glare before padding back to the apprentices den and 'accidentally' kicking her in the leg-enough for her to feel it, but not enough to do extreme damage-then padded on with a quiet snicker.

Black let out a yowl and began tearing up, "Fox-heart..." she growled and left to the nursery.

Spottedpaw ,who was coming out the apprentice den, head-butted into Sparrowpaw. "Sorry!" she squeaked.

Reedkit glanced at Sparrowpaw. 'You really think Starclan intended it?" He asked happily. "Actually, I was looking at this big pretty fish in the river when I fell in..."

Sparrowpaw smiled and Reedpaw and looked at Spottedpaw. "Oh, it's ok." he said, flicking her gently with his tail and poofing from this topic forever.

Spottedpaw padded over to the beaten-up kit. "Say what." she meowed quietly, crouching in front of him. "Be good and I'll catch it for you."
