A day of newborn kits~

Quietkit lay in her mother's nest, curled up against her warm fur. She stretched quietly, her ears only recently opened to the sounds of the nursery, which were still quiet with the gentle snores of queens, and slowly lifted her head.

Her eyes flicked open for the first time. They were a pretty blue, and gazed around at the walls of the nursery. She flinched when she saw how big her mother and siblings were. She quickly scrambled backward, falling out of the nest with a thump. She lay there in fear, looking around with wide eyes. Soon she got up and scrambled back into the nest, pressing against her mother in fear, her whole body shaking, and fur fluffed up to it's puffiest.

Ivoryleaf blinked her Green eyes open "Good morning precious" she purred and licked the kits head.

ooc: .3. *is precious* lolwut?

ic: Quietkit relaxed a little at her tounge, but still was shaking. She looked up at Ivoryleaf with fear in her eyes, and buried herself under her mother's fluffyness.

Ivoryleaf fluffed up her fur around the kit "What's the matter?"

Quietkit didn't answer, just gazed around in fear at all the "unknown" of the nursery. The other queens were considered "unknown", the light of the nursery entrance was "unknown", and even her siblings were "unknown". The unknown scared her, as she didn't know whether it caused hurt or happiness. Happiness was good and to be respected. Hurt was something to be feared and avoided. That was all she knew.

Ic: "Don't be scared little one" Ivoryleaf nuzzled the kit "You're father might visit soon. Would you like that?"

ooc: oh. derp. *facepalm*

ic: Quietkit slowly nodded. Her "Father" was not an unknown. He was her blood. He was there when she was born. She faintly remembered biting his foot, thinking it was something else. That memory would perish though as she got older :D

"He's still sleeping but, why don't we play a game?" she asked

Quietkit nodded, getting to her paws. She flinched as her eyes watched the nursery entrance.

Ivoryleaf purred and made a moss ball, she threw it to Quietkit.

Quietkit leaped back in alarm, staring at the ball of moss with wide eyes. She prodded it with a paw and flinched when it moved. She hadn't uttered a sound the entire time, and was easily scared. Rather than tossing the moss ball back, she backed up a few steps and crouched there, fur fluffed up and eyes wide with fear. She stared at the moss ball, unmoving.

Ivoryleaf purred "Pick it up and throw it back, Dear" she smiled,warmly.

ooc: *Goes through cat lives* Blackstorm: A grump. Reedkit: Stupid. Quietkit: Emotionally scarred. Birdflight: A carefree-yet-wise guy.

ic: Quietkit slowly and cautiously crept forward, eyeing the moss ball carefully. She prodded it with a paw and flinched when it moved a little, but she didn't jump back this time. Slowly, she prodded it again, getting used to it. The moss ball was a thing. It was non-living. She had now learned that there were things that lived and breathed. Living things could hurt or protect. Hurt was bad. Protection was good. Good was happiness. Nonliving things couldn't hurt, as far as she knew. They did not move without another force of a living thing. After her mind automatically calculated this in her head, she stood up, picking up the moss ball and tossing it back to her mother. It was more of a roll than a toss, and it only rolled a few mouse-lengths. Quietkit followed i, hitting it again. She continued this until the moss ball rolled to Ivoryleaf's paws. She figured this was a game where the goal was to get the moss ball to the other player so they could throw it back by hitting or tossing it. These things automatically and self-consiously were figured out and calculated in her head. This was a unique and clever skill, but her scared personality would get in the way of the many things she could do with that skill.

Ic:Ivoryleaf purred "Good job!" she praised "Use your mouth" she picked the moss ball up, and showed her teeth gripping it to the tiny kit.

ooc: LOL!

ic: Quietkit's eyes grew bigger than before with fear of the teeth being bared at her and she darted away at surprising speed, hiding inside the nursery wall(?). She shivered there, making the leaves rattle slightly.

ooc: She's gonna be really skilled when it comes to speed, smarts, and tracking, but it's basically gonna be a waste with her personality x3. Hey, I can't make a perfect cat, It wouldn't be fair ;u;

Ivoryleaf spit out the mossball "It's okay Dear. I would never hurt you! Please come out?"

Quietkit continued to hide, but stopped shaking. After a few moments of silence she crawled out, looking pathetic. Her ears were flat, her pelt ruffled and spiked, her blue eyes wide so that most of her eyes were black instead of blue, and her claws were out, digging in the ground.

Ivoryleaf swept the kit closer with her tail and snuggled close "It's okay" she purred.

The tiny kit basically disappeared under the fluff of tail fur. She poked her head out, looking up at her mother with warm eyes. She relaxed, feeling happier and safer. She curled up and lay her head on her tail, looking around. Her eyes began to droop sleepily, and she closed her eyes, snoring silently and soundly.

Ic: Ivoryleaf picked the kit up by the scruff and sat her in their nest. She then curled in and curled up close to them,watching them sleep soundly.

ooc: When everyone wakes up, and gets online, they can post x3

Patchstar woke up as the sun hit his eyes. He then saw Ivoryleaf and Quietkit sitting togehter. "lolwut? Hello," he purred to them.

Quietkit lifted her head, looking at her father with wide eyes. She backed up against her mother with alarm of how big he was.

"Is something wrong?" He asked, giving his kit a small lick.

Quietkit flinched at the lick but slowly loosened up with a calm look in her eyes. She was silent, and wouldn't utter a sound.
